ACCEL Physio Fair Play Cup

The MSWSL is
very excited to announce a continued
partnership with ACCEL Physiotherapy
& Sport Performance Centre for
sponsorship of the League's
fair play cup, titled the ACCEL
Physio Fair Play Cup. Since
it's inauguration in the summer of
2012, the ACCEL Physiotherapy &
Sports Performance Centre have
generously agreed to provide funding for
prizes for the winners as well as the
players recognized as fair play team
players by you, the participants.
The ACCEL Physio Fair Play Cup
will not only extend the season for
teams looking for additional playing
time through August, but will both
promote and recognize teams and players
for supporting the League's
underpinning principles of fair play and
sporting
competition — principles
shared by the ACCEL Centre.

physiotherapy, other professional
services include: chiropractic, massage
therapy, sport specific strength and
conditioning, sport medicine, orthotics,
orthopaedic bracing, and mental
performance and sport nutrition
consultation.
The benefits
to MSWSL players seeking care at the
ACCEL Centre include:
-
access to physiotherapy,
chiropractic and massage therapy within
24 hours of calling for an appointment;
and
-
extended clinic hours that
include both early morning and evening
treatments.
To provide
even more health promotional
opportunities, the ACCEL Centre will
offer the following product discounts to
MSWSL members:
-
10% off 60 minute (1 hour)
massage therapy sessions;
-
10% off sport therapy
products (excluding bracing);
and
I encourage
you all to take advantage of the
Centre's excellent services.
When contacting the ACCEL Centre,
they ask that you please inform the
front desk staff that you are a MSWSL
player. The ACCEL Centre is also

Reporting Form
Fair Play Cup - How it works
-
Any team that does not qualify for
the League Championship play-offs,
or the Provincial Representatives
play-offs, will be automatically
entered into the ACCEL
Physio Fair Play
Cup competition and
is guaranteed at least 3 games. Each
team automatically entered will play
3 games before further games are
added to the schedule. A team must
play a minimum of 3 games in order
to be eligible to win the Cup.
-
Any team that is eliminated from the
play-offs may elect to join in the
ACCEL
Physio Fair Play
Cup competition at
any time by notifying the League,
and will be guaranteed at least 1
game, which must be scheduled before
any team plays a 4th game.
-
Any team that wishes to play games
later than the Provincial weekend
must notify the League in order to
be scheduled for late
August/September games.
-
Opponents will be randomly drawn from
the total number of teams entered in
the Cup. However, if after the
first round a team is drawn to play
against an opponent they have
already played during Cup
competition, the next team drawn
that they have not yet played will
be their opponents.
-
Standings for the ACCEL
Physio Fair Play
Cup will be based on
points, awarded in accordance with
the following table, and divided by
the number of games played by the
team:

-
If 2 or more teams end up

during Cup
competition;
-
failing which, the
team with the least
discipline points
against it over the
entire season will
be highest;
-
failing which, a draw
from a hat will
select the winner
from amongst tied
teams.
-
The team with the most points
as determined under this
Rule will be declared the
MSWSL Fair Play Cup Winner.
-
Fair Play Players
-
For each game in the Cup
competition, each team is
required to nominate a
player from the opposing
team as the “fair
player of the game”,
in the manner determined by
the League Executive.
The player nominated
should be the player who
best meets the fair play
criteria.
-
The players with the most
fair player nominations will
be recognized as members of
the MSWSL Fair Player Team.
-
Fair Play Criteria
-
The following are the fair
play criteria and some
examples of how they should
be judged:
-
Shows respect for opponents (positive
attitudes, helping injured players,
no unnecessarily rough play, no rude
or offensive comments or gestures)
-
Shows respect for game officials
(accepting decisions without
protest, no arguing with officials,
no back-talk)
-
Shows respect for teammates
(encouraging teammates, staying
positive, no negative criticisms,
keeping up team spirit)
-
Shows respect for the sport (arriving
on time, assisting with nets and
preparation for play, no time
wasting, no play-acting, using
ethical tactics, supporting the
principles of fair play rather than
win at all costs)
- Makes the game a positive experience
(engaging in friendly chatter with
opposition and game officials,
attempting to defuse potential problems
before they get out of hand, leading by
example)
