The Metro Senior Women’s Soccer League (MSWSL) and SNS would like to share the merger of new playing divisions into the MSWSL starting in the Summer of 2018 and running year round.

With the formation of SNS’s new youth and Performance league, Senior Women’s divisions previously run under the umbrella of the CISL, will now find a home as members of the MSWSL. The MSWSL will expand its programs to include the AA Women’s and C women’s divisions.

Merging these divisions into the existing Senior Women’s League as the MSMSL has done, will help to provide clarity to the member clubs/players as to the stream for female players in the metro area to follow as they age out of the youth system, and will allow for B and C level women’s soccer to grow and help the development of the new AA Championship division.

The MSWSL was established in 1988 as a place for female players to continue playing soccer after youth, in an environment that understood the unique needs of female soccer players, the league started with 6 teams and has grown to as many as 30 teams at the B level.

“The MSWSL Executive is excited to welcome these ladies into our fold and to continue growing the Senior Women’s game within Metro. We look forward to continued discussion with SNS and our members to ensure there is an opportunity for women to play soccer as long as possible at every level.” – MSWSL Executive

“It is essential that we create a level below our existing Premiership division, ensuring players have the pathway opportunity to continue to play and develop within their club organization. We feel, this could assist us with the existing gap, aligning senior soccer with the youth system, which in return can support the growth of club culture vs isolated teams.” – SNS

There will be a meeting for the new divisions Tuesday April 3rd at 7pm in the SNS Boardroom. Every team/club wanting to participate in AA or C is asked to send a representative to this meeting.
