League Championship play-offs

  1. Divisional Crossover Games

    1. A draw “from a hat” will select groups of teams, comprised of a minimum of one team from each division for divisional crossover games. (If the total number of teams in the league does not provide for an equal number of teams in each group, some group(s) will be comprised of an additional team. This team (s) will be drawn from the remainder of unselected teams and placed in the appropriate group (s) as determined at the outset of the group draws. The teams will play each other once and the team with the best record of the games within the group will advance to a play-off within the league to determine league champion. (For groups that are composed of extra team(s), that group(s) will be ranked according to their group points and the last placed team in the group will be eliminated from the group results. The game results between the three highest ranking teams only, will be used to determine the group winner and any potential “wild card” spot.)

    2. All divisional crossover games are played to a winner. If, at the end of regulation time, a game is tied, there shall be a 10 minute overtime (2 five minute halves - substitutions only at the end of the first overtime half). If at the end of overtime the game remains tied then FIFA penalty shot rules will determine the winner.

    3. The divisional crossover winning teams will be ranked according to their divisional standings. That is, teams from the Jones Division will be ranked according to their standings, then teams from the DeWolfe according to their divisional standings, then teams from the Ritchie Division according to their divisional standings.

  2. League Championship Play-offs

    1. The divisional crossover group winners will be joined in the League Championship play offs by as many “wild card” teams as are needed to make up the play-off spots. “Wild card” teams will be the teams that amassed the next highest points in the divisional crossover games and which have the highest divisional standing (Jones, then DeWolfe, then Ritchie). The “wild card” teams will be assigned a place at the bottom of the ranking, in order of their standings.

    2. All League Championship playoff games are played to a winner. If, at the end of regulation time, a game is tied, there shall be a 10 minute overtime (2 five minute halves - substitutions only at the end of the first overtime half). If at the end of overtime the game remains tied then FIFA penalty shot rules will determine the winner.
